We will stay 2 nights at the Athenais Hotel in Athens and explore both the ancient and modern areas of the city along with the Acropolis Museum. The next day we will begin our travel in tour bus to Sparta Gaia through the Peloponnese region stopping at the beach, cultural centers, sacred sites and villages along the way. Additional highlights include a traditional farmers picnic in the Artemis Valley, enjoying a "Homeric" tavern meal, Greek wine tasting, botanical walks, the Gastronomy and Olive Oil museums and exploring the most beautiful Byzantine castle town in Europe, Monemvasia. There will also be opportunities to participate in experiential types of activities at ancient sites as well as workshops involving ancient and present day dance, poetry, and music led by Dimitra herself. There's so much to learn about! We will play the actual games that the women in Sappho's era (610 BC) played on the beach. We will have the chance to participate in wine, olive and cheese tasting too. "

    "SO MANY ACTIVITIES...SO LITTLE TIME".

We will be staying at Sparta Gaia (see photos below), Dimitra's family's refurbished rural mansion (18th c) which also serves as an Airbnb. This inn bears witness of Greece's architectural heritage, preserving also the traditional garden design and the hand-crafted furniture, while embodying modern amenities.

Dimitra has created as much of an authentic ancient experience as possible, making our stay at Sparta Gaia truly special. We can stretch at the sunny veranda and gardens and don't miss the sunset from the 360-view terrace overlooking the Mt. Taygetos pyramidal peak and the southernmost cape of Europe, Tainaron.

Part 2: Amazones Eco-Land & Cultural Experience

May 29th - June 2nd
September 9th-14th, 2023

Our home base on the land is located between the  village of Mesotopos and the beautiful beach town of Tavari. We will be hosted by my gracious friend, Ronit, the visionary founder of Amazones Eco Land carrying the dream of creating of an international lesbian destination for short and long term stays.  This beautiful retreat space is being developed on a gorgeous piece of fertile land complete with a variety of fruit trees and an exquisite view of the North Aegean Sea which is within walking distance.  While we are on the land, we will indulge in freshly made organic meals and learn culinary tips and tricks from several amazing Greek mamas. We will tour nearby villages of Hagysos,  and Sigri which features an ominous monastery high up on the hill. Touring the local cheese and bakery co-operatives will showcase the sustainable lifestyles of the Greek.  In addition, we will be able to express our artistic creativity in a special project to be announced.  There will be a variety of circles designed to get to know one another, sing, play, dance and learn more about ourselves and each other.  It's all about connection and community.
