This trip was life changing. My father had just passed away and I wasn’t sure I could even manage it. But it turned out this trip was exactly what I needed.

Dimitra’s expertise with the feminine aspects of the Greek culture took us on a deep dive into ourselves and Jody’s ability to navigate that deep space opened up worlds within all of us.

I cried and laughed, and laughed some more. Truthfully I hadn’t laughed that much in decades. And to be held in a circle of women day after day was just the medicine I needed.

Thank you Dimitra and Jody. I’m definitely going on your trip next year as well. I can't wait!

In 2022 I joined a group of women, most of whom I'd never met, on the most profound trip of my life. At the time my goal was to attend the International
Women’s Festival but something magical and unexpected happened…I experienced gentleness, love & unconditional acceptance, topped off by the beauty and energy of Greece. The
festival itself became secondary, even though I had a fabulous time.

When I arrived in Greece I was not in a good place, This trip changed that. I opened my heart so it could heal. You can’t go wrong when you’re surrounded by positive vibes, love and kindness.

When I returned home, I even had people asking what happen

Going on the Sacred Roots trip to Greece, in May of 2023, was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had wanted to go to the Isle of Lesvos, and have been interested in the Greek Goddesses, and archeology for decades. Being able to combine all of these, on a trip with women only, led by women and staying mostly in accommodations owned by women was an exciting thought.

Oh but the reality was even better! Jody's caring leadership brought 14 disparate personalities together within days, through lovely daily check-in circles. Her incredible empathetic vision of the women and the trip kept things flowing, and when necessary, adapting to changes with seeming ease while also being a beloved part of the group.

Dimitra is a wonderful and knowledgeable cultural guide and archeologist who brings the history and culture of this beautiful country to life.

Our trip in 2022 was a life changing experience-a before and after so to speak. It really shaped my way of seeing life. It changed me in a way that I am more flexible in understanding the world from a different perspective.

I joined a group of women I had never met and soon realized we were aligned in terms of values. This community offered me a sense of belonging that I was in search of and had no idea existed. It opened my heart to be more open to new experiences without expectations. I feel so much gratitude for every moment we shared.

Even though I took the trip alone, I never felt alone. It has been challenging for me to find this in the lesbian community so I felt that I had arrived!

It takes courage to say yes to something so big. My new perspective is that not everything has to be perfect but when we do it together, it makes all the difference.

This trip was life-changing. Through ritual as well as information, Dimitra as leader of the Sacred Roots tour opened up a whole new understanding of Ancient Greece. We traveled with a group of like-minded women who entered into the spirit of the trip with heart and soul. I will never forget this journey.

Then we moved to Lesvos, for the women's festival, and slipped easily into the friendly and open atmosphere of Skala Eressos, continuing to spend time with many of the new community we'd created in Sacred Roots. Throughout, Jody managed things beautifully, dealing with all of the details and keeping us comfortable. I highly recommend this trip!

“Sacred Roots Retreat" was an incredible opportunity to meet women from all over the world in a close, connected, educational and adventurous setting.

Everything about the trip was well thought through and perfectly designed to support our needs and deepest experience, not to mention the life long lesbian friendships and couples that developed as a result of this trip.

With Jody and Dimitra as our guides, we were able to delve into our inner and outer landscapes with very skilled and knowledgeable guidance in mythology, archaeology, history, and human nature and relationships.

Sacred Roots left a very deep imprint in my soul and looking forward to joining in again on the next trip in May, 2024. Can’t get enough!

Going on the Sacred Roots trip and the International Erresos Women’s festival was one of the best decisions and gifts I have ever given myself. It was warm and connecting, rigorous, yet deeply replenishing.

I participated in the Lesbian getaway’s 2025 trip to Greece. I was on the Sacred Roots tour and the first week of the Sappho festival. I normally don’t do group tours, but I am so glad I decided to try this one. Hands down one of the best traveling experiences I’ve had.

Dimetra was an amazing guide for the first part of the tour. She presented so much more than mere historical facts. In addition, Jody was great in building cohesion in the group and thus it felt like lifelong friendships were formed.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jody over the past two years, the first encounter was at a meetup event. She was warm and welcoming. Jody not only makes you feel comfortable, but she is always introducing new folks to others at the event and makes the rounds to ensure every one is engaged.

In May of 2025, I attended a two week trip in Costa Rica and she worked her magic again. Great guests, delightful accommodations and many opportunities to grow . The itinerary was fantastic and any changes due to the weather resulted in a smooth transition to a new wonderful experience. The best part was that I met my girlfriend on that trip and we are very happy together!

The trips are filled with delicious food and getting to know the local folks as well. I highly recommend attending any event or travel opportunity that she offers. It will be one of the highlights of your life!
